    What we need from you

    Volunteers and Officiating

Our team is only as good as the volunteers that run it. We need each and every parent to make this team work. Each family must volunteer for one meet. Volunteers will be needed for Judges, starters, scorekeepers, timers, ready bench and runners. Every open position is easily learned, requires no prior experience, and you don't have to do it alone.

Timers, Runners and Ready Bench volunteers do not require any certification and can be completed by any parent, grandparent, sibling or other family member present for the meet.

It takes approximately 16 meet officials to run a swim meet. Our team is responsible for supplying half of the officials for both home and away meets. Time spent on deck officiating counts towards volunteer shift requirements.

Parents are welcome to attend practices, but parents must not interfere with practices. You may sit in the viewing gallery or on the pool lounge chairs (Outdoor Pool). Please do not distract the swimmers or the coaches during practice. Please relay this direction to any other adults who might be bringing or picking up your children from practice.

    Parent’s Survival Tips

Absolutely no alcoholic beverages of any kind.

No smoking is allowed in the pool area.

    No foul language is allowed.

Bring lawn chairs, hats, sun block, team shirts and plenty of water.

Please arrange for money, meeting places, etc., before the meet begins.

Please attend the meets and let the team know you are behind them.

A parent or guardian is required to be present to be eligible to swim at any NWAL sanctioned meet. Please do not drop off young swimmers they will not be allowed to swim and the parent or guardian will be contacted to pick up the child. This may result in actions that could include removal from the swim team.

Whether your swimmer does or does not have a great race, always talk about their best performance. Personal improvement is our primary goal.

    Swimmer Survival Tips

Label T-shirts on the inside hem. Label towels. Put your child's name on ALL of their gear!

Bring two towels and an old spread/blanket to lie on during meets.

    Cheer for your teammates.

Show the other team the respect you would want for yourself.

Bring lawn chairs, hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water.

The team will have a tent area for all swimmers. Swimmers should stay in this area during the entire meet to facilitate locating swimmers for events. Swimmers should rest during free time. Horseplay is not allowed in team area.

Swimmers are encouraged to bring books, cards, games, etc., to occupy their time between events. (No loud music is allowed – parents/swimmers need to be able to hear the announcer.)

Check in time can vary! Make sure to read the weekly coach emails to make sure you will be on time for warm-ups and at the correct pool.

Do not leave before all your races are complete. If you must leave prior to your final event, notify the coach ASAP- we do count on every member of the TEAM and so do your relay team members.

MOST of all HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!
